Vicky Johnson, DVM

Dr. Vicky Johnson is a southwest Ohio native whose family is full of horse people. She started taking lessons at a young age, riding and showing Saddlebreds, and then eventually Quarter Horses. Throughout school, she has taught lessons, advised 4H clubs, helped with county fairs, and continues to ride and show western performance horses.

Dr. Johnson completed her Bachelor’s in Biology at Heidelberg University in 2016, and completed her DVM at the Ohio State University in 2020. She spent her first year after graduation completing an internship at Rood and Riddle in Saratoga Springs, NY, where she saw a variety of cases from orthopedic surgery on racing Thoroughbreds, to wellness visits for companion horses in the field. This has fostered her professional interests to be diverse from lameness to reproduction, but she particularly enjoys complementary medicine that focuses on maximizing comfort and performance for all types of horses. She is currently a member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP), the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association (AHVMA), the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association (OVMA), and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA).
