Cleveland Equine Clinic is proud to announce we are officially offering appointments for Medical Manipulation (or commonly called chiropractic) with Dr. Johnson and with Dr. Tabin!

Veterinary Medical Manipulation (VMM) is a form of diagnosis and therapy that focuses on assessing and correcting disorders of the musculoskeletal and nervous systems. When you schedule a VMM appointment, we start with watching your horse in motion, since their way of going can clue us in on certain areas that may be causing pain or changes in their gait. After the initial assessment we move to our hands-on exam, which is where certain joints and areas of the body are palpated and put through range of motion to check their function, but also to find “restrictions,” or loss of normal joint or muscle movement.

As restrictions are found, adjustments are made using high-velocity, low-amplitude (HVLA) and stretching motions. As these adjustments are made, our goal is to restore a normal environment in and around parts of the horse’s body to ensure smooth, coordinated movement of all limb and spinal segments to optimize spinal joint neuromuscular function.

VMM is beneficial for all horses, including your retirees, trail partners, high level performance horses, and everything in between, as clearing restrictions can not only improve your horse’s quality of life, but also improve performance and help alleviate compensatory soreness from lameness and exertion.
