Cleveland Equine Clinic offers the following therapies as needed:
Shockwave therapy is a method of treatment well-recognized for its ability to stimulate the healing process for various orthopedic injuries.
IRAP (Interleukin-1 Receptor Antagonist Protein) treatment utilizes progressive gene therapy to combat osteoarthritis in horses. The procedure begins with drawing blood from the horse into a syringe, which is specially prepared with glass beads that stimulate production of the interleukin -1 receptor antagonist. The blood is harvested, incubated and centrifuged to separate the plasma (abundant with IRAP) from the blood. The plasma is then reinjected into the horse’s arthritic joint.
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a process where plasma is harvested from the horse’s own bloodstream and processed to increase concentration of platelets. The final solution is high in various growth factors beneficial to healing tendon and ligament injuries.
PulpCyte Stem Cell Therapy provided by VetGraft. These stem cells are harvested from dental tissue from a donor, grown in a lab, and shipped overnight to us. This does not require an invasive procedure to harvest cells on your own horse. Stem cells are used to treat tendon, ligament, and joint injuries.
Bisphosphonate Therapy inhibits bone resorption and regulates osteoclasts in areas of increased activity. This therapy is typically used to manage Navicular Disease. We offer the following bisphosphonate products:
